Alice Pisano is bursting with talent and hopeful sentiments with everything she pushes out. Her brand of electro-pop is indulgent and mesmerizing, hence why she has featured in a number of playlists to date including Spotify’s 10 New Music Friday playlists this year. She has written and shared her new hopeful pop track ‘Open Up’ and it’s an uplifting listen without a doubt. The track includes production credits from Troy Miller who has worked with the likes of Emeli Sandé & Jamie Cullum. Further production credits also include the work of John Foyle who has worked with progressive pop band Years & Years & Maisie Peters. The songstress has also shared an official video for this release, with an official premiere via Wonderland.

Please describe your sound for us.
I would say it’s contemporary pop, with both electronic and organic elements.
How did it all start for you?
Music is in my blood! I grew up surrounded by it and it’s always been my great passion. I’ve been singing since I was little, but my first approach to studying music was actually classical piano. In my teens I picked up the guitar and started singing in various bands, it wasn’t until I was about nineteen that I discovered songwriting.
Which three artists would you say made you want to create your own music?
When I started writing songs I was listening to a lot of Gabrielle Aplin, Florence + The Machine and Joni Mitchell.
What is your go-to gear/equipment when creating?
I have a Nord Electro 6 HP and a Santa Cruz FS acoustic guitar.
What are some of your key influences in your music? Whether it be the sound created by others, imagery, films or any kind of art form.
Poetry and books are definitely an inspiration, whenever I come across a word or phrase I love, I write it down in my notebook… I remember the very first song I wrote was inspired by one of my favourite books – Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brönte.
What is one sub-genre you think doesn’t get the attention it deserves?
I have always really loved Celtic music… Although I guess it will always be a bit of a niche genre.
Any new or upcoming artists on your radar?
I’ve been listening to Elina a lot, an acoustic pop artist from Norway.
What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As a performer? As an attendee?
As a performer, a Sofar Sounds gig in London…I could feel the connection with the audience and it was truly magical. As an attendee, a Bon Iver concert. It was nearly ten years ago but I still remember it as the most moving performance!
What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
I will be releasing a new song in September…This one will be a ballad.
