Following on from the release of her last single ‘Stories On The TV’ – which saw support from BBC Radio 1 (Mollie King, Dean McCullough & Gemma Bradley) and BBC Radio 2 (Rylan) – Electro-Pop artist – Darla Jade – returns with her first single of 2022 – ‘Broken Armour’.

A straight up pop anthem about self-healing, ‘Broken Armour’ is Darla’s first solo material this year. She delivers her classic electro-pop sound with a hint of new wave, leading you into her next era of music.
Speaking on the release, Darla Jade explains: “Broken Armour is a track that I wrote last year in lockdown over zoom with my producer Imad Salhi, as soon as we wrote it I knew I wanted to release it! It’s a little weird because we wrote the song and then a few months later I hit a few months where I was going through a lot emotionally, and this song really spoke to me more than it did when we first wrote it!”
2021 was a hugely successful year for Darla Jade. She started the year strong with a collaborative remix of her single ‘Ghost In Me’ alongside Nico De Andrea. She then went on to release ‘Slow Motion’, ‘Problems’ and ‘Disconnect’ as singles, ahead of her debut EP ‘Disconnect’, which dropped on the 30th July. The EP has since seen support from the likes of BBC Radio 1 (The Chillest Show with Sian Eleri and Mollie King’s Best New Pop), BBC Radio 2 (Rylan), as well as tastemakers including Billboard, Notion, The Line Of Best Fit & Rolling Stone India – not forgetting DSP support from Spotify’s New Music Friday UK and New Pop UK. Darla’s track “Disconnect” also made it into Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK + IE Class Of 2021, championing her as one of the top streamed artists for that playlist for the year.
Now in 2022, Darla has already seen support from BBC Introducing Stoke, naming her as one of their ‘Big In 2022’ artists. BBC Radio 1’s Gemma Bradley, Mollie King, Dean McCullough and BBC Radio 2’s Rylan have also all championed her latest single release ‘Stories On the TV.’ The single was also BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Track Of The Week w/c 18th March and was supported by BBC Radio 1’s Adele Roberts, Matt & Mollie, Vick & Jordan, Rickie, Melvin & Charlie, Arielle Free, Greg James and Scott Mills. Darla also supported The Ninth Wave at Oslo in Hackney earlier this month.
Other artists are taking notice of Darla’s writing style, and in addition to working on her own material, she has started writing for others too, gaining cuts with artists such as Gorgon City (Burning), Nico De Andrea (Monster), Leftwing: Kody (Deeper), Ferry Corsten & Tom Staar (Glow) and CRVVCKS (Colours) to name a few.
