Genre fusions are fun, particularly when they’re the product of two sonically contrasting acts. Hotel Mira is an alt-rock band and Sleepy Tom is a versatile electronic music producer, who is currently dabbling in the disco world. Listeners will immediately notice this when they press play on his latest single, ‘Time and Time Again’, featuring the previously mentioned band, out via MNRK.

With a disco-esque bassline, the single embodies a feel-good attitude that is both energetic and grounded. The well-rounded production plays with space; clever panning effects send the vocals to the back of the mix. But they do not stay there. Instead, they rush to the front, like an excited fan at a live show. 

Setting things in unstoppable motion from the start, the powerful lyric line (hint: it’s the track title)  jumps out at you. It is a bold way to begin a song, and it works. This powerful collaboration wastes no time getting to the juicy bits, and fans will thank these two acts for their confident approach.
