Let’s count the ways Felix Cartal has brought us joy this past year. First, Mine appeared, with Sophie Simmons to set the tone for what was to follow and accompanied by an entertaining video. The producer provided us with a bit of Harmony in our lives as he released the aptly named single – you can read our feature here. Then we had Happy Hour with Kiiara, calling us back into bars and pubs where the cheap drinks flow and mistakes are easily made. Next, were visited by the Only One accompanied by the delightful Karin Harding and setting the tone for future summer romances.

Now, with Cartal’s most recent song, is where things become a little different. ‘My Last Song’ with the rebellious Hanne Mjøen, released last Friday via Physical Presents, carries a darker yet equally captivating tone. Felix Cartal’s latest choice on female vocals, Hanne Mjøen is quickly becoming a household name. Her latest single ‘Hell With You’ became a hit almost overnight with features in numerous tastemaker publications and her efforts in co-writing R3HAB’s legendary single, ‘You Could Be’ easily proving her worth. ‘My Last Song’ is catchy in all the right ways – honest to itself and listeners while still providing that ever-so-catchy pop shine.

Hanne Mjøen shares her thoughts on the single: “My Last Song” is the perfect description of how it feels to invest every emotion and put all your energy and time into making music. It’s hard to balance relationships and a career, especially when they ask for too much or start accusing you of being cold. I loved writing this with Felix, it’s so rare I work with producers that actually cares about the lyrics, and we connected on this vibe.”

Fortunately for us, it won’t be long before we will be able to find all of the above works in one convenient collection, as Felix Cartal has announced the release of his upcoming album, Expensive Sounds For Nice People on the 25th of June.
