Born in China but based in the UK, Rong moved to London at the tender age of 16 to pursue her musical career. Often walking the road less travelled in order to achieve her dreams, Rong is no stranger to personal sacrifice. Thus, she has allowed fans to walk the journey beside her, by using multimedia and technology to aid the release of her imminent album. There Is A Funeral In My Heart, For Every Man I Loved has been crowdfunded, and she is involved in the NFT community, marking herself as one of the forerunners in the artistic evolution.
‘Out Of Clock’ features on the Spotify playlist POP_GROUND.fm
‘Out Of Clock’ traipses through an array of interesting moods without diluting Rong’s idiosyncrasies. Her resolute execution is tempered by contemplative vocals and delicate, pulsing instrumentals, resulting in an evocative and highly listenable track.
She gives some insight into how the track fits in to the bigger picture: “‘Out of Clock’ is the theme song of the double album There Is A Funeral In My Heart, For Every Man I loved 心葬 so in the song, I repeatedly said the song title in a monologue in both Chinese and English. It’s the final revelation of what this album is about. The monologue on the Chinese side describes why there is a funeral in my heart, for every man I loved. I guess for those who don’t understand Chinese, they’ll just have to follow me closely and tune into my exclusive album release journey on one of my many platforms where I will be telling them the full story.”
