Miley unveiled ‘Bass Persuades’ on September 3, the lead single and title track from her forthcoming tenth studio album, set for release September 18 via Atlantic Records. Emerging initially as the face of Hannah Montana, she has since redefined her artistry through pivotal releases including Bangerz, Plastic Hearts, and the Grammy-winning ‘Flowers’ from Endless Summer Vacation

Her ninth album, Something Beautiful, arrived last year; for this new era, she adopts a mononym and marks her debut with Atlantic. The album rollout includes two headline performances at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and 18, with Model/Actriz confirmed as support.

The song pulses with sharp ’80s synths and a driving four-on-the-floor beat, staying taut until the chorus bursts open. Miley’s opening lines land in a near-whisper: “Step into the scene, you won’t catch an eye.” The hook chants “the kids don’t wanna dance,” urging everyone to ditch their phones and lose themselves in the night.

In Mert Alas’s video, the story starts in a shadowy poker club, with Miley dressed in a leather cap, bralette,, and slacks, before she transforms into high-waisted underwear, stockings, and heels as dancers flood the room. By the final chorus, the party spills out onto rain-slicked city streets.
