Today, teenage singer-songwriter Kyra Daniel released the incredible music video for her latest single ‘Words Mean Something’ via Jayward Artist Group.
The music video was directed by Sean Cartwright and DOP Mack Calistan in Hamilton, ON, and was shot on 70MM Film for the most lush and cinematic viewing experience.
“Words Mean Something” was one of Kyra’s first co-writes with producer Evan Cline (Teddy Swims, Georgia Webster, Foster, Peytan Porter), and tackles the subject of bullying and the importance of each child having their own voice and the support to be able to use it. Sean decided to approach the subject with subtlety, using empty school rooms and hallways as the backdrop, leaving it up to the viewer to imagine what might go on daily in such hallways and schoolyards.
“I’ve been dreaming about making my first music video ever since I started singing,” said Kyra Daniel “The setting, the crew, everything and everyone that was a part of this shoot made it an unforgettable experience. I’m so grateful for this video, and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do!”
Kingston native Kyra Daniel is already proving to be a force to be reckoned with at only 13 years old. Since becoming a member of Mini Pop Kids in 2020, Kyra has gained confidence and an incredible stage presence after being given countless opportunities to perform live for kids and parents across Canada and the USA with the MPK troop.
Kyra’s mature voice has started to catch the attention of notable people in the music industry such as Mickey Guyton, Brittany Spencer, Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men, and Nashville Music Exec, LeAnn Phelan. As a result, LeAnn connected Kyra with producer/UMPG songwriter Evan Cline which led to a trip to Nashville for Kyra to record her first EP.
This year, Kyra was added to Jayward Artist Group’s talented roster and released her debut single “Like It’s Summer” in June. Now, she is ready to show the world her heart and a very personal experience with her new single “Words Mean Something”.
