Former K-Pop idol and acclaimed singer-songwriter MIN released her new highly anticipated EP PRIME TIME on June 21st, 2024. PRIME TIME is a four-track EP which signifies a turning point in MIN’s career and personal life. Born in Korea, MIN grew up listening to the likes of Prince, Michael Jackson and Destiny’s Child. Today, she draws inspiration from Rihanna and her grandmother, Pill Yeo Han, who remains her biggest musical influence.
Formerly part of the K-pop band Miss A, MIN decided to relocate to New York as she felt too constricted by the band. The move to New York inspired this EP which is an extension of her renewed identity. In the feisty lead single ‘PRIME TIME’ she collaborates with the immensely talented Korean rapper Lil Cherry. The track perfectly embodies MIN’s new lease on life and her music. ‘PRIME TIME’ is about empowerment, confidence, and breaking free from constraints. It’s a combination of lively pop melodies, hard-hitting rap verses and elements of electronic music.
Produced by MJ the “Boaz”, the EP reflects the challenges and personal growth MIN has experienced in her personal and professional life. It’s a showcase of her growth and resilience, and serves as a form of encouragement to others to embrace their authentic selves. MIN shares, “I hope that this EP is one that empowers people, that instills in the listeners hope and an empowerment that you, too, can live the way that you’d like without having to answer to any critics and naysayers.”
