Marsha Swanson Marks Near Life Experience Anniversary with the Release of “Like An Angel”

Singer-songwriter Marsha Swanson begins 2025 with the highly anticipated release of her latest single ‘Like An Angel,’ dropping on January 31st. The single marks the one year anniversary of her album Near Life Experience, which earned widespread acclaim for its introspective lyrics and progressive pop sound. Praised by Rock and Reel Magazine as a ‘songwriter who weaves insightful and thought-provoking lyrics into irresistible catchy tunes’, Swanson continues to captivate audiences with her deeply personal and innovative artistry.

‘Like An Angel’, initially an untitled ghost track on Near Life Experience, has been beautifully reimagined with a live band and string section, breathing new life into the song. The single is accompanied by a visually stunning music video, her fifth collaboration with award-winning Iranian animator Sam Chegini, whose artistic vision enhances the track’s emotional depth. Produced by Henry (King Thumb) Thomas at Echo Zoo Studios, the song brings together an impressive lineup of musicians, including drummer Martyn Barker, guitarist Tony Qunta, and keyboardist Anders Olinder. The result is a rich, spiritual sound that seamlessly blends the original recording’s ethereal qualities with vibrant new instrumentation.

Swanson describes the track as her most meaningful work, an ode to those who are no longer with us but continue to inspire and guide. ‘It is a song about acceptance that is written from love about love,’ she explains. Already earning a semi-finalist spot in the UK Songwriting Contest, ‘Like An Angel’ adds to Swanson’s growing list of accolades, including Best Folk Artist and Best Album at the Glasswerk New Music Awards. With its lush arrangement and introspective themes, the single not only celebrates the legacy of Near Life Experience but also offers fans a heartfelt and timeless listening experience.
