Charlotte Han Releases Debut Album ‘The Diary of a Twenty-Something’

Charlotte Han’s debut album, The Diary of a Twenty-Something, unfolds as an 11-track journey through the tangled terrain of love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and personal growth. A classically trained violinist and recording engineer, Han weaves contemporary singer-songwriter pop with a bold, anthemic spirit, channeling the emotional clarity of Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams, and Noah Kahan while carving out her own space with raw, unfiltered lyrics and intricately layered production. The album pulses with the volatility of early adulthood, gliding between hushed, introspective moments and sweeping, energetic surges that keep each track urgent yet inviting.

Lead single ‘In Another Life’ starts out as a soft ballad before developing into a grandiose pop soundscape which perfectly encapsulates the feeling of being haunted by an old relationship and the desire to go back and change things. The build up in both sound and emotion is absolutely spot on and perfectly reflects the lyrics which are all about moving on. ‘I love you too’ is a much more direct and punchy piece of indie-pop with a full band, the melodies are more cutting and the vocals are more impassioned. ‘Hate You Song’ is a more straightforward look at the problems in a relationship and it’s a delightfully cheeky, honest piece of music which still manages to stay firmly in the confessional vein of the record.

As she raised nearly $15k for the project, Charlotte Han invited listeners into her process, openly sharing her doubts and milestones. This ongoing conversation weaves into the album’s core message: that voicing the uncertainty of these years makes it feel less daunting and more manageable.

Charlotte Han had this to say: “These songs are a form of validation and empowerment. Not just for me, but for any empath in or reminiscing on their twenties who felt like they were alone in this chaos. We’re all going through some crazy relationships and constantly riding one emotional rollercoaster after another. But at the end of the day, it’s all just one bad comedy show. Cry, laugh, know that we’re not alone, and accept the possibly delusional idea that it’s all going to work out one way or another!”
