We chatted with the talent Deanna Devore and found out they are as charismatic as their sound.
Please describe your sound for us.
R&B/neo-soul/chillhop.
How did it all start for you?
At a young age I began to learn to play different instruments, which then led to writing music, which then led to recording and producing. I kept with it and grew as a composer as I got older.
Which three artists would you say made you want to create your own music?
Hmm I started creating because I love playing instruments so much. I wouldn’t say there were specific artists at that time that made me want to create.
What is your go-to gear/equipment when creating?
Ableton Live, Native Instruments, XLN Audio.
What are some of your key influences in your music? Whether it be the sound created by others, imagery, films or any kind of art form.
Definitely sound. I like to be moved by music so I like beautiful chords, atmospheric sounds, and driving beats.
What is one sub-genre you think doesn’t get the attention it deserves?
I really like jazz-hop. Fusing jazz music with hip hop beats.
Any new or upcoming artists on your radar?
None that I can think of. I need to get back to checking out new music :).
What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As a performer? As an attendee?
I’d say opening up for Jamie Cullum. It was an amazing experience to play solo in front of a full, large venue, with everyone completely silent.
What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
More music released as an artist, and more music composed for ads and film.
