Please describe your sound for us.
Indie electronic.
How did it all start for you?
A series of events happened for this project to come to fruition and I’m so grateful for that. I’m blessed to have such a wonderful team around me and I’m thankful every day.
Which three artists would you say made you want to create your own music?
Rufus Du Sol, Tame Impala, The Weeknd.
What is your go-to gear/equipment when creating?
I usually start with an idea for a song and then experiment with some interesting chords on the keys or in Ableton and let the song guide me. Sometimes I’ll write on a guitar as well. It happens organically and it’s always about a vibe. The best thing I can do is serve the song and let everything naturally fall into place.
What are some of your key influences in your music? Whether it be the sound created by others, imagery, films or any kind of art form.
I’m really into innovative and vibey visuals that move me. I put in a lot of time to make my music complete audio and visual experience for the fans and I know they appreciate that. On the music side, I have had many artist influences. But lately, I’m really into music that is in the same lane as me, songs that evoke emotion. I have to feel a connection for a song to really grab my attention.
Your vocal tone on this track is remarkably softer than the usual dance-pop genre. How would you describe your vocal range to someone who does not understand musical theory?
I wanted to have a certain level of intimacy on the verses of this track. The vibe just felt right since the subject of this song talks about that euphoric state of love. I also made sure to make the drop of the song massive by using the higher part of my vocal range to convey the weightless feeling of being so high from love that you’re flying.
What is one sub-genre you think doesn’t get the attention it deserves?
Contemporary jazz. There’s actually a lot of dope artists in that genre.
Any new or upcoming artists on your radar?
So grateful to be among the many talented artists on the Physical Presents roster.
What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As a performer? As an attendee?
My debut EP release show at The Drake Underground in Toronto was an epic night I’ll always remember. Looking forward to making some new memories with my new songs this year!
Your latest single definitely has the romance vibe infused into it. What is the most romantic thing you have ever done?
I’m absolutely a romantic at heart but I never kiss and tell.
What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
LOTS of new music!
Famous last words?
Think outside the box.
