Avant-pop musician NAVA has released her new single ‘Gaz’ today. Packed with varied production influences, this rich track explores the Persian-born singer’s routes and her artistic expression in the pop sphere. Released via Oyez!, the Italian-based musician has been featured in reputable publications with her preceding offerings: Rolling Stone Italy, Metal Magazine, and EARMILK to name a few.
NAVA elaborates on what the track means to her: “With Gaz I was able to explore my Persian roots on a whole new level. It’s so strange because when we were in the studio the first time working on the track, the beat we started from had quite a Persian flair to it. I was quite surprised because when I was jotting down the melody for the chorus, only Persian words or idioms came to me! And like always, I let the creative process flow because it’s the most honest.”
With vulnerable lyrics that speak on fickle romantic relationships, the attitude fuelled and jagged electronics add a spicy tone to the mood of the track. The result is a danceable and lively pop track that exudes confidence and extra spark with NAVA’s authentic production and approach to her sound. We need more authentic and captivating sounds in a saturated market. It acts like NAVA that keeps the flame of artistic integrity alive and we look forward to seeing the songstress add more fuel in the months to follow.
