Fresh off their Eurovision run behind the euphoric ‘RÓA’, which swept both jury and public votes at Söngvakeppnin last year, Icelandic brothers Matthías David Matthíasson and Halfdan Helgi Matthíasson, better known as VÆB, have dropped ‘Þetta Reddast’. The single previews their debut full-length VÆBOUT, arriving April 17, 2026 via Alda Music. Longtime creative partners who grew up making short films and performing anywhere they could, the silver-clad duo (pronounced “vibe”) first broke through when a deliberately absurd TikTok track, ‘Aron Can (borðar kál)’, went viral and became their official debut, later refined with help from producer Ingi Bauer.
Built on sparkling electronic production and chant-ready hooks, ‘Þetta Reddast’ turns the common Icelandic saying “it will all work out” into a pop celebration. The brothers bounce between rap verses and melodic choruses with ease, keeping the energy chaotic but infectious. Channeling the rush of Aqua, Scooter, and Marcus & Martinus, the track mixes dance beats, hip-hop swagger, and Icelandic party attitude into something relentlessly upbeat.
The accompanying video doubles down on their whimsical world with surreal animation, quirky characters, and heavy silver visuals that match the song’s joyful unpredictability. Every element in the arrangement, from the driving synth lines to the vocal trade-offs and layered hooks, locks together cleanly. This gives the single a polished unity that points toward a debut album built on the same focused exuberance.
Halfdan explains the spark: “It’s a legendary saying that everybody uses when they’re having a bad day. If you’re saying it, you might as well sing about it.”
